Founded as a youth platform since 2003, the ATO's central tenet on active involvement of people regardless of their gender, race, background, belief, nationality, and physical disability to form a community of practice that advances the principles of equality, democracy and international friendship through social and creative activism. Below are the basic information regarding membership in our organization system, which is free and open for all.
Why Membership with the ATO?
The organization provides a well-structured community platform to advance social advocacies that are relevant to its current programs and projects, below are the current thematic areas of the organization in which most members, volunteers, and its partners are actively involved:
Environmentalism and ecological conservation
Education and literacy
Community empowerment

How are the membership classified?
The ATO has a policy on categorizing the people that are involved in its organization system, below are how it's defined:
Regular Membership - Members in this category has full membership rights and privileges. They are also required to renew their membership annually
Honorary Membership - This is bestowed to members who have rendered a significant number of years of active contribution and leadership in the organization. This is done through nomination and approved by the ATO Membership Committee.
Volunteer - Members in this category are classified as Volunteers and are usually given to individuals who were involved in the organization's recognized programs/projects/initiatives. It does not necessarily have access to organization decision-making processes, affiliation in the organization is purely informal.
What are the eligibilities/requirements?
For membership eligibility (according to the ATO's Membership Policy), the person must be:
Must be aged between 13 and 35;
No pending criminal records in any country;
Demonstrates interest in social and creative activism.
The interested applicant must submit a valid ID (for verification) and answer the online membership application form that will be released once a membership opening has been announced for that year. Once approved by the Membership Committee, the person is officially recognized as a bona fide member. A member must retain the membership through active involvement and renewing his membership annually.
As of January 2025, membership to the organization is free and does not require membership fees.
What does the membership entail?
While involvement in the organization is purely voluntary (just like in any civil society organization), membership requires involvement in major activities of the organization, both online and on-site (depending on the availability and presence of members/volunteers in the country where you're in).
Active involvement refers to active collaboration and attendance in meetings, activities, and also leading initiatives and contributing to working committees or working groups of our recognized projects.
Membership also gives you access to certain platforms and networks that the ATO is a member, this provides a platform for young professionals who wants to further engage in various opportunities.
When is the next membership cycle?
As of January 2025, our annual membership opening has not yet been announced. The information is usually posted through our blog page or in our social media pages (see the links below). You may also refresh this page since we will update this once information has been released.
