Our organization extends its sincere condolences to the victims of the recent 2026 flash floods, which have claimed hundreds of lives with thousands still missing. We express our deepest solidarity with the victims, their families, and all those currently engaged in rescue operations. Above all, our thoughts are with our members in Nepal, who are enduring this difficult time in the face of national tragedy.

Our organization recognizes the need for internal regulations on the use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) within its organizational system. In November 2025, we gathered officers' and coordinators' views on GAI usage and its implications for our work, the public, and environmental sustainability.  The administrative team compiled these recommendations and crafted a set of internal guidelines for GAI use in our organization. These regulations provide guidelines for officers, project directors, members, and volunteers on encountering GAI in work related to the organization. GAI refers to free or paid generative artificial intelligence created through machine learning, including tools like ChatGPT, Meta, and Gemini.


To provide a quick summary of this new internal policy, please refer to the following points:

• For Design & Creatives: The use of GAI to generate digital assets such as images, design, multimedia (i.e., videos, audio) is largely discouraged and will be treated as an ethical issue. Future policies may prohibit GAI use in designing or creating assets related to our activities.

 

• Writing Assistance/Aid: Transparency in the use of GAI is encouraged. Members who opt for GAI use are recommended that GAI-generated text must not exceed 30% of the total number of text in an article. GAI use acknowledgement must also accompany the work.
  
  
• Data Privacy and Confidentiality: No internal documents, personal data, or any specially categorized documents shall be used/uploaded in GAI. Enforcement of this policy is aligned with ATO Board Resolution 2024-7: Data Privacy Policy. Any act related to this is a sanctionable offense under the organization’s bylaws and policies.

The ATO welcomed new members from more than seven countries during its membership orientation session held on 18 August 2025. Members from Kenya, Nepal, Malawi, the Philippines, Palestine, India, and Nigeria were formally received for the 2025 cycle.

The Membership Drive was led by the Membership Committee under the guidance of the current organization Vice President, Ruby Kryticous, who also serves as committee chairperson, with support from the current organization secretary, Sameer Yasin. Committee members Atkia Samia Rahman and Julio Kajakata were likewise present to assist in welcoming the participants. The session featured warm interactions and brief introductions that set the tone for collaboration.

The organization looks forward to building new initiatives with this fresh group of members and to exploring social advocacies that will be nurtured within the ATO platform.

We condemn the Attacks on Humanitarian Staff In Gaza. Stop the Genocide. Stop the Hunger. 

In solidarity with civil society organizations around the world and reflecting on our previous statements, our organization firmly reiterates its call for the Israeli government to immediately cease all attacks on medical and civilian facilities, as well as the population. We urgently call for the immediate full resumption of the humanitarian corridors to ensure lifesaving aid reaches those in need.


Furthermore, as we have reiterated in our previous statements, we continue to demand the following actions for the international community:

1. Pursue diplomatic solutions that address the concerns of all parties, establish an immediate and lasting ceasefire, that ensures that unobstructed flow of humanitarian aid to Palestine;
2. Hold those in power accountable not for fulfilling their legal obligations under the International Court of Justice, protecting civilians and non-belligerents from war crimes and and acts of genocide;
3. End the occupation and blockade of Gaza and all Palestinian territories, working toward a just resolution that guarantees Palestinians their sovereign right to establish their state on their historic land;
4. Prosecute all perpetrators responsible for war crimes and crimes against humanity.
   
   

Building on our previous position statement released in June 2024, our organization continues to officially condemn the atrocities committed against the People of Palestine. We recognize these acts as war crimes and affirm they must be classified as genocide against civilians.
