The ATO conducted its first-ever Town Hall session of this year on 20 September 2025 in virtual mode. A town hall session is an informal gathering where members share their own ideas and discuss various topics that help improve the organization’s ongoing activities and policies. It was chaired by John Carl Alonsagay, whereas Sameer Yasin and Atkia Samia Rahman led the presentation. The participants consisted of both new members and old ones. The session primarily focused on three topics: how the policy framework works, how ATO obtains its funding, and how ATO can support volunteers. To answer the first question, the briefing on the ATO Policy Consultation Process was conducted by ATO officers who explained how each member, the administration team, and the board of trustees are crucially involved in this process. As for the funds, there is a dedicated team dealing with it named as grant committee, which searches for ongoing grants that align with our organization’s agenda and applies for them; however, the primary source of funds is maintained by the founding members. To support volunteers, there will be monthly or regular webinars to provide emotional/mental health support. In addition to that, there will be professional development sessions to build skills. Looking forward to the upcoming months, it has been decided to rebuild the community environment that existed pre-COVID through monthly community sessions, expand country-level collaborations and engagements. Date released: 24 November 2025
