The ATO President formally announced the appointment of Avalumun Kaa of Nigeria as the new Organization Secretary and Catherine May R. Bautista of the Philippines as the new Assistant Communications Officer.
“We are excited to welcome Avalumun and Catherine to the core of ATO Officers and Staff,” said Mr. Richard Rioja, President of the organization. “They are both highly motivated and experienced individuals who will be instrumental in helping us achieve our mission in creating a platform for social and creative activism.” Avalumun is a committed climate advocate with a strong track record of project implementation. He is a project member of the ATO-ClimatEducate Project, where he serves as the deputy director for Partnerships and Engagement. He is also a prize winner of the World Environment Day (WED) 2020 National writing competition and was awarded the Green Ambassador for the Climate in Africa in 2020. Catherine is a committed educator and environmental enthusiast. She is passionate about raising awareness about climate change among young people. She has organized and participated in tree planting, beach clean-ups, and educational workshops. In their new roles, Avalumun and Catherine will be responsible for supporting the ATO’s internal operations. Avalumun will oversee the organization’s administrative and financial matters, while Catherine will provide assistance in the organization’s communications and outreach efforts.
